Many of the dishes we serve at 2Booli come from actual Ansara family recipes, handed down for generations. Our family comes from the small village of Aita al-Foukhar, nestled in the mountains of Lebanon. Immediately to the south of this village, the mountain's gentle slope has provided a wonderful gift of natural agricultural terraces, on which village residents grow an array of crops including wheat, blueberries, figs, apples, grapes, and olives. It is this tradition of fresh, wholesome ingredients and the homemade offerings they inspire that will always be the heart and soul of 2Booli.
Throughout the first half of the 20th century, a number of our family members immigrated to America, bringing with them the rich traditions of their homeland, including many of the recipes you will find on our menu. This is the food we grew up with, and it is with great pride and affection that we offer it to you. We are thankful to our parents, George, Gerry, Andrew and Jackie Ansara for their hard work and perseverance, which has given us the opportunity to share this delicious legacy with all who come to 2Booli.
